Last month, Lambeth Living’s new Chief executive was welcomed to Weir Estate and learn about what WERA is achieving in the community and for the benefit of our residents.

Cathy Deplessis who has been with Lambeth Living since January 2009 was invited by WERA Chair, Dave McEvoy to visit the estate.  In May 2009, Ms Deplessis met with Chair Dave McEvoy, Secretary Mags Cregan, Local Ward Councillors, Lib Peck and Diana Morris as well as Safer Neighbourhood Team Constable, Christian Igwegbe. Cathy was given a tour of the estate and Weir Link Centre and discussed the future of Weir Estate and Lambeth Living.

WERA Chair, Dave McEvoy said “We invited Cathy to visit us to show the great estate that we have here and the progress we are making as well building a brighter future for residents.

As someone who has been born and bred in Lambeth and has lived on Housing Estates most of my life, this was wonderful to have the Chief Executive visit Weir Estate and see for herself the work that we at WERA are doing for the benefit of our community and residents. I am proud to live on Weir Estate and seek to build on good relations with our housing provider; this was a great start to that relationship”

By working together we can improve the services and the way Lambeth Living delivers its services to residents on Weir Estate and throughout the borough.

Cathy Deplessis said after the walkabout “Lambeth Living is committed to managing and delivering high quality homes and excellent services to Lambeth tenants and leaseholders. Meeting with residents, hearing their views and seeing the fantastic work that WERA do on the ground to support their estate and community reinforced my personal commitment to getting it right and improving the services that Lambeth Living provides “

We seek to now build on this relationship into the future and improve the lives of residents on a Lambeth Living Estate and that of the residents Association. WERA Chair, Mr. McEvoy has since been invited to speak at a Lambeth Living Seminar to give the residents view on how services can be improved. Dave Added “This is positive way forward and I am delighted that we have the support and dedication of a someone like Cathy Deplessis who seems to have a real vision to improve resident lives.”
