Can you please tell us who you are and what your position is?  

CA: Chris Adamson, Strategic Housing Manager, Central Area 

 

How long have you been doing this job?  

CA: I came to Lambeth in November 2004 at the time of 'Re framing as the Housing Manager for Brixton 

 

Have you always worked for London Borough of Lambeth?  

CA: I previously worked for Hammersmith and Fulham, Lewisham and New Islington and Hackney HA 

 

What is the best aspects of your role?  

CA: Being in a position to improve the services we provide 

 

Do you think you have a direct benefit to residents on Weir Estate, if yes, please explain how?  

CA: Most of what I do will I hope indirectly benefit the  residents of Weir through the staff I manage. We provide resident participation support to Weir and other TRA's. We provide grounds maintenance and cleaning which is on the whole a good service - although clearly there are lapses when we will default the contractor. We work with the TRA to use the income from mobile phone masts which comes to the estate

 

In an ideal world, How would you change the way services work in Lambeth for residents?  

CA: Less bureaucracy, and speedier responses. Better able to deal with nuisance and anti-social behaviour.

 

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?  

CA: Cycling, reading and running.

 

Do you think Lambeth as a borough has improved?  

CA: As a borough definitely. As Housing and Lambeth Living we are working on it.

 

If you was not doing the job you are now, what other job would you like to do and why?  

CA: Member of Parliament - chance to change things.

 

What is your favourite aspect of living in Britain?  

CA: London - fantastic multiracial community. Britain- some of the best scenery in the world

 

What role do you think Residents Associations such as WERA play in the Borough?  

CA: Take part in as many activities as possible. Work with the whole community to bring all sections together

and increase the possibility of all residents benefiting and participating 

 

In what other country apart from Britain would you most like to live in?  

CA: Italy, Mexico.

 

Who inspires you? 

CA: Malcolm X, Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela and Hilary Clinton.

 

What sports if any do you follow? 

CA: Cycling, squash, football and rugby 

 

Do you feel that more can be done to help councils and those living in Lambeth? 

CA: Of course 

 

What do you think are the best things about living/working in Lambeth?  

CA: Fascinating place to work, all sorts of interesting people

CA: ? CA was unable to answer this question.

 

What do you think is the most important aspect of community?

CA: Togetherness and fairness - both of which we're a bit short of in many parts of Britain today 

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time?

CA: Trekking in the Peruvian Andes - a repeat of the journey which I and my wife did last year
